[Washington, DC] - On Thursday February 5, 2004, more than 200 women in Washington DC to lobby Congress on key issues affecting workingwomen will hear Leslie Calman, Executive Vice President of the NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund discuss the Family Initiative: Better Child Care, Preschool and Afterschool.

Carolyn Grady, BPW/USA President and a former President of BPW/Wisconsin said, “Women from across the country will be taking time from their jobs, families and busy lives to come to the nation’s capitol to lobby their Congressional Representatives about issues vital to all women in the United States and workingwomen in particular. This year the BPW/USA legislative priorities include passage of The Equity in Prescription Insurance and Contraceptive Converge Act, the Civil Rights Tax Relief Act, the Advancing Justice Through the DNA Technology Act and the Small Business Administration Reauthorization Act.”

Deborah Platt Majoras, Former Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the Department of Justice’s Anti-Trust Division and current partner at Jones Day law firm will speak on Equity in the Workplace at 8:00 am at the Wyndham Washington Hotel.
